I didn’t mean to see him naked--it was an accident.

It had to be, right?

Because Noah McCormick and I have never been anything more than friends. In all the years I’ve known him, he’s never once laid a finger on me. And even though he was a cute lifeguard at 16 and a hotter-than-hell sheriff’s deputy at 34, he's always been that protective guy I could trust to keep his hands to himself. I never wanted to mess with that.

Until I walked in on him getting out of the shower and saw his hard, muscular body totally bare and dripping wet. At that moment I never wanted to mess with anything so badly in my entire life.

I should have covered my eyes. Said I was sorry. At the very least, I could have handed him a towel.

After all, I was only in town for a few days, and he was just doing me a favor by escorting me to my sister’s wedding. It wasn’t a real date.

But I didn’t apologize. And he didn’t cover up.

(Talk about a hot mess.)

After all those years of being just friends, suddenly we’re insatiable.

He’s made it clear he’s not interested in romance. Which is fine with me because I’ve got a plane ticket back to my real life at the end of the week.

It’s all in fun...or is it?

”My entire life, I’ve been waiting to fall in love like this, and now that I have, I’m even more alone than I was before.”

WOW! I can’t even begin to describe just how much I loved this book. I started to fear that maybe there was no topping the first installment, but now I’m going to have to say that Noah and Meg’s story is my favorite in the ”Cloverleigh Series”. I just love me a good friends-to-lovers romance. There's just something extra special about a love affair that sparks from a close friendship.

Meg and Noah have been best friends since high school, and over the years life took them in different directions but no matter how long they go without seeing each other, their bond had never wavered. Neither has had the best of luck in the love department and after yet another failed relationship, Meg returns home to seek love and comfort from her family and best friend Noah. From the moment these two reunite there is no denying the sexual tension that lays so close to the surface between them. It is almost a foregone conclusion that they’re going to give in to the temptation.

These two put me through an emotional roller coaster. I wanted them to get their act together and figure out that they’d wasted so many years staying in the friend zone when it was obvious from the start, they were simply meant to be true soulmates. Meg is an endearing heroine who is sure to make you shed some tears and Noah is one heck of a swoon-worthy hero. He was the source of most of the crazy angst, but I promise you won’t be able to do anything but love him and hope that he gets his act together before it’s too late.

Here are my overall ratings:

No sé cuál quiero primero.

It felt like the same old story. He loved me, but not enough.

Contemporary romance of long distance best friends who become lovers when one of them returns home after being away for a long time. These two have stayed in contact and have always had that deep connection, but now they take it to the next level.

I really wanted to love this one, but I couldn’t get over how agro the hero was. Like I understand that alpha males are often written this way, but something about how he was written struck me wrong. He aggressively speaks to people by yelling and cursing, and he even mocks his ex for saying that she once felt verbally abused by him. I mean. If a man yelled at me the way he yells at his current heroine, I’d probably feel a little abused too. She doesn’t, and is understanding, and that’s her prerogative, but I didn’t like how the ex’s feelings of not wanting to be unloaded on without explanation were treated.

That’s all I’m going to say about that.

I love this series a lot and I find this one cute and sweet, it was also fast paced and romantic.I adored the characters and I fell in love with them!

"My entire life, I’ve been waiting to fall in love like this, and now that I have, I’m even more alone than I was before.”

I love the relationship between Meg and Noah. They were intense and passionate. There were moments I swoon and melt over them. They make me have butterflies in my stomach these two!

"He pressed close behind me and spoke low in my ear. His voice was deep and commanding. "You have the right to remain silent. Anything on my body can and will be used against."

Once upon a time, in a small town not far away in my imagination, there is a boy who saves a girl from drowning. The boy becomes her guardian angel. They becomes good friend and always be there for each other on their life journey. One day the girl comes home and continue the friendship with the boy. The girl now a woman and the boy is now a man. Their friendship is a subject of adoring of affection on my eyes.

Hey, I wish I have a Noah in my life. During their 'date' they succumb into their lust and consume it. Oh and of course they have their HEA. This is Miss Harlow book anyway. Even though the story is bit boring, I do enjoy the chemistry between Noah and Meg. They are the best friend anyone can envy. I love how their conversation flows like water and how they comfortable with each other.

I awarded 4 stars.

I always know, without a doubt, when I start a Harlow novel that I need to make sure sleep isn't essential because once I start I just can't put the book down.
Insatiable is absolute magic! Full of fabulous banter, volcanic level heat and a hero so sexy and swoon worthy he kicks all other book boyfriends off their pedestals.

Noah is the ultimate alpha hero, broody, sweet, sensitive and OH MY GOD the steam between the sheets is off the charts!

Insatiable is a complete standalone and should definitely be moved to the top of your TBR! I have dibs on Noah, though. He's just too delicious for words.

Melanie Harlow does small town romance so well and I love how she always incorporates family into her stories. I’ve read a few of these books (so out of order) and it was fun to see some of the characters I love in this. I thought the heroine was great. I loved Meg. Noah was great at the start, but I really don’t love when it takes so dang long for the hero to come around. This wasn’t done in a slow burn way, he just took forever. I loved his relationship with his family, and there was so much good about this friends to lovers romance. I’m excited to get to some of the other ones I’ve missed in this series.

I'm really enjoying this series!!

These books are honestly just a lot of fun. I read them so quickly and never want to put them down. Sometimes they get a little cheesy and the plot can be a little convenient, but these really never fail to put a smile on my face!!

Comfort reads for sure.

Friends to Lovers | Small Town Romance

Melanie Harlow has swept me off my feet with this series and I have fallen in love with each and every book. While this is the third in the Cloverleigh Farms series it can be read as a standalone. The books are interconnected (each book features a new sisters love story) but don't contain enough to spoil the other books if you haven't read them. As I say for every series though, I personally suggest reading them in order if you can. That way you can get a good idea as to the family, the characters, and Cloverleigh farms.

Insatiable is a friends-to-lovers romance. Noah and Meg have known each other ever since Noah rescued her from drowning when they were teenagers. While they have moved and lived their own lives apart from each other they have always kept in touch. So when Meg gets dumped by her boyfriend she decides it's better to be surrounded by friends and family and goes back to Cloverleigh farms. Not only that, her little sister's wedding is coming up so she feels like fate is telling her it's time to go home!

When she get's there, the first person she's truly excited to see is her friend Noah. He's the sheriff and has grown into a gorgeous man. Keeping her eyes off him is a bit of a struggle, but because they are so close it's easy to fall back into their friendship (despite the possible feelings of longing when she looks at them).

Noah may feel the same way but he's pretty firm on his stance that he can never fall in love and has no intention on starting a relationship with ANYONE, even his best friend who has grown on him in more ways than one when she came back. So what happens when sparks fly? Will Noah chance his ways and finally learn to love despite his reluctance? Will Meg ever feel as if she is worth the fight? You'll have to read this irresistible story to find out!

Melanie Harlow is a wonderful storyteller and I have been excited for each and every one of her releases since I started this series. I hope she'll end up giving us another book because there is one sister left who may need their own story... I guess I'll have to wait and find out! Aside from that, I feel like her writing is so beautiful that I need to go back and start her books from the beginning! I can't wait to see what else she brings to the table.

If you're looking for a new book to read I highly recommend this one! It's lighthearted read, with a little drama and angst towards the end, but an all around gorgeous love story.

So another well crafted and well paced book by Melanie Harlow, and yet another flawed hero and strong heroine. So why can’t I enjoy these more? Well I will tell you. I am so over the driving conflict in these stories being the hero’s inability to commit because of emotional cowardice. Build me a strong and capable character, a deputy, an army veteran, a life saver, a great uncle, friend and brother, compassionate and brave and SO UTTERLY STUPID! There was no good reason for this man to deny himself a committed relationship with the woman he admits to being in love with. Please authors of contemporary romance, stop using this tired, frustrating and uncreative plot device!
And particularly Melanie Harlow, can you PLEASE, pretty please brain storm some new ideas for story lines other than reuniting people who were friends in high school? I know this series is complete, and that I have another sawyer sister to read who gets reunited with her high school friend. I’m utterly over it. Please come up with some new ideas, new meet cutes, ANYTHING other than this again.

Meg and Noah were terrific. I think this is my favorite book of the series so far. This is a great example of friends to lovers done well. Noah is a cop with an adorable K9 partner (and I’m not even a dog lover) so many of you will enjoy that aspect of the story. The family and sisterhood is still strong here, and the setting makes me wish I was at Cloverleigh Farms to meet these wonderful people and attend a beautiful wedding! I can’t wait for the rest of the sisters’ stories. But for now, Meg and Noah definitely do not disappoint.

I have been a longtime fan of Melanie Harlow and love her sexy, heartfelt and emotional stories. She has the golden touch when it comes to delivering stories that touch your heart while bringing all the sizzle. Noah and Meg were pure FIRE!! Lord did I love this sexy (childhood) friends to lovers story so much. What an exceptional addition to the already amazing Cloverleigh Farms series!

Meg Sawyer and Noah McCormick have had a life long friendship between them. But when Meg comes home for a week of R&R before her younger sister's wedding, a fiery attraction between her and Noah begin to blur the lines between them. But with an aversion to commitment, Noah is so ready to push Meg away after a week and say goodbye to what they could have.

Gah!! I LOVED this story so much. Harlow brought the HEAT between Meg and Noah and then some and I was SO HERE FOR IT!! My kindle about combusted from the sexual tension and fiery chemistry between them. But what I loved more than anything was the real and volatile emotions that Noah felt. On one hand he has always loved Meg throughout his life, but his fear of not being enough for her and being torn in so many directions was so powerful. The emotions he felt were so real and raw, I could not help but ache for him.

Overall, Insatiable was magnificent and another breathtaking story from this amazing author! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula

***

One of my favorite book tropes is friends to lovers. Love to see how a friendship blossoms into something more, something amazing, something wonderful.

Meg and Noah’s romance is just that. Something that started as a friendship—even though they’ve always been attracted to each other—that explodes into a firestorm of lust and love.

Meg’s home for her sister’s wedding and feels unsettled and overworked. She needs this break from her hectic life. She didn’t count on catching the sexy deputy coming out of the shower, nor did she count on her libido suddenly waking up and taking notice. But that sizzle and pop isn’t one sided. Nope. Noah’s feeling the same things for Meg, but until now hasn’t had the courage or the opportunity to act.

And act he does! I absolutely loved how Noah and Meg’s relationship developed! So much heat and hotness.

And hesitancy. And denial.

And hope.

Yep, hope. Because neither one really wants this to end. And they need to get over their internal struggles or they’re going to lose the one person that’s absolutely perfect for them.

I absolutely loved the push, pull, sizzle, pop of Noah and Meg’s story, and I cannot wait for more in this amazing Cloverleigh Farms series. ~ Missy, 5 stars

The list of things I didn't like about this book is quite long, so gear up.

1. There were some very conservative, old-fashioned views about men's and women's roles in the world and how a family is supposed to be run. It angered me immensely.

2. Noah is an asshole, and I really don't see how Meg fell in love with him. He's also very stupid.

3. Meg's characterization was just so bad. She just has random qualities that don't make any sense together. Also, she's quite unlikeable as well.

3. Meg's family was super annoying, even though I guess the whole series is about the sisters.

4. Noah's family was even worse.

5. The whole relationship of Meg and Noah was so fucking bad. So they were best friends but hadn't seen each other in years? They knew lots of things about each other but not some very integral things that you know about your best friend?

6. There was way too much importance placed on sex when the feelings were greatly lacking.

7. Kinky sex. I have nothing against kinky sex, but wow, that took a turn.

8. I wanted to reiterate how much I disliked Noah.

9. After their big fight, they fucking get back together so fucking easily. Fuck off. That's not how real life works.

10. Bruh. I just really did not like Noah or Meg.

Anyway, that was the gist of the novel. It wasn't even bad in a way that makes it funny. It just was mildly painful to read. Whatever. I probably won't be reading any more Melanie Harlow.

And I'm out.

Noah and Meg have been friends since they were kids. There has never been anything more than friendship between them but they are as close as a boyfriend/girlfriend, without the intimacy.

Meg’s younger sister Frannie is getting married so she is returning to her hometown. After her long term boyfriend decides to end their relationship unexpectedly she goes home earlier than planned. She wants to enjoy some time with her family and think about what to do moving forward. She is really excited about seeing Noah again.

Noah is thrilled to see Meg walking up his pathway. She looks as beautiful as she always does, if not more. If she only knew that she was the star of his spank bank movies she would probably put a bit of distance in her hugs with him. Meg is just as happy to see Noah, after telling him about her recent break-up she enjoys just chilling with him, enjoying his company.

Things have always felt so easy with Noah and she has no idea why every relationship she has ends in failure. There was definitely a moment in time when she thought that they could have had something more between them but that was years ago now and they have both moved on from those feelings. Or have they?

Med is sensing a shift in their friendship and when she decides to do something about it this leads to a week of incredible sexy times between them. Noah knows this is only a holiday fling and that is why he decided to give in to his desire. This will only work because it has a time limit and then they can go back to the way things were. Right?

Intimacy changes things and there is no going back from that. Meg is feeling overwhelmed by the depth of feelings she has for Noah. He, on the other hand, is not thinking the same way. He accepted many years ago that he would not meet someone, fall in love and live happily ever after. It wouldn’t be fair for him to have the life his brother could only dream of so he tells himself. There really is no hope for him and Meg.

Oh yes, second chance love stories are my drug of choice and this one definitely feed my addiction. It is very low angst but filled with lots of sweet moments and plenty of steam!

This was a cute and easy read. It was everything I was expecting it to be and it didn’t let me down in any way… there isn’t something I can particularly pinpoint and say ‘I didn’t like that, or I didn’t like this’… it really was a fine time all around the board.

The thing is, friends to lovers just isn’t my favorite trope… I don’t hate them, but I usually don’t end up absolutely loving them either. I always give them a shot because I’ll randomly find some gems… but more often than not, they usually end up falling into the ‘it was a good time, thoroughly enjoyed.. but wasn’t particularly blown away and swooning over the story’ category (aka 4 star vibes)

This one was pretty classic, pretty basic and pretty predictable. Not necessarily in a bad way though… I just found myself a tad bored in some spots because I just knew the things the characters were about to do and say… but that’s what I expect by picking up a small town romance like this so I’m not complaining, I’m just saying.

I’m definitely happy I read it because it was a solid story and I was able to fly through it pretty quickly… and if you are a die hard friends to lovers fan… you’ll probably love this no questions asked.

4.5 HOTTTTTT CROWNS

HOLY!! This has to be one of the hottest Melanie Harlow books I have read. I always tout Harlow as being the perfect blend of sweet and steamy. She brings the small town romance feel with all the heat I need in the bedroom, but this one. This one. I wasn't prepared.

The steam factor is upped due in large part to Noah. I died for this hero. He was perfection, with his care for his brother, his profession as a cop, and his predilections in the bedroom. There wasn't a bad thing I could say about him. His hang-ups are understandable, well-developed through his characterization.

Meg is the next Sawyer sister to find love. I enjoyed her character overall, and I loved that she took ownership of what she liked in the bedroom. She is also brave enough and willing enough to take a chance on her heart and the future she wants.

Insatiable is a bit of friends to lover, small-town, second chance-ish all rolled into one. There is a bit of it all. And while, the conflict is expected, I did love the overall idea behind the heroine's choices. I love that she made decisions based on more than just her feelings for Noah, but also for herself. I do wish that the groveling and apology, the redemption was a bit longer or more poignant. It was a bit too quick.

Insatiable has been my absolute favorite of the standalones in the Cloverleigh Farms series. I love the family, the world, and this couple in particular.

Insatiable was another dud. I don’t know why I keep trying Melanie Harlow’s novels and expecting it to be different, when it’s always the same (admittedly, it’s mostly the amazing covers that suck me in). Stilted dialogue, nonexistent chemistry, and distant storytelling always seem to be her M.O.

After yet another one of Meg Sawyer’s relationships fizzles out, the 33-year-old political strategist is left wondering why she is never worth fighting for. Determined to put the break-up behind her, she returns to her childhood home in Michigan a week early for a much-needed distraction. Amongst one of those distractions is police officer Noah McCormick, the one who always made her question what could have been. When she unexpectedly walks in on him naked, they finally have the perfect excuse to act on their seventeen-year attraction to one another. With every night that they spend together, their pact to strictly remain friends with benefits gets compromised. However, with Meg returning to D.C by the end of the week, Noah must decide whether he can get over his struggles with deserving happiness and whether their relationship is worth fighting for.

Melanie Harlow spent way too long focusing on unnecessary details, especially in the beginning. 20% of the novel went by before Meg and Noah finally come face to face again, and by that point, I was no longer invested in the story. The biggest offenders in Melanie’s prose, however, were the numerous consecutive short sentences and excessive exclamation marks. They read like staccatos, which made everything, especially the dialogue, feel so unnatural. For example, the sex scene where Noah “punishes” Meg relies heavily on the banter to work. However, it was so stilted that I almost burst out laughing – it honestly read like a parody of what a sex scene shouldn’t be. It also didn’t help that there weren’t many transitions between the scenes. I kept having to go back and reread parts of the book because I kept getting confused as to why the setting changed. This took me out of the moment and further disrupted the flow of the novel.

I also hated Noah and I thought that his struggle with letting go of his guilt of being born the “normal” twin was incredibly irritating. He was such a baby - he kept yelling whenever he didn’t get his way, yet he stubbornly refused to change the situation. In particular, when Meg asked for his opinion on her moving back to Michigan, he treated her with such derision that I didn’t understand how I was supposed to feel sympathetic to him, when he subsequently spent the remaining 25% of the novel whining about how much he missed her. The one moment that made me absolutely hate him though, was when he had a bad day at work and took it out on her. He shamed his ex-girlfriend, Holly, for being unable to take his asshole behaviour and praised Meg for rewarding him with a blow job in spite of it. For all of Holly’s faults, it was fucking reasonable for her to get emotional when he suddenly unleashed his rage on her and expect him to grovel for it. So when Noah made the grand gesture by flying out to D.C., I was frustrated that Meg immediately kissed him back, before he even had the chance to prove that he would never abandon her again. Throughout the novel, she kept absolving his flipflopping and by the end, I wasn’t convinced that he truly deserved her trust or that he wouldn’t pull another childish stunt again.

Despite all my grievances with this novel, there were some aspects that I enjoyed. I loved Renzo and I thought that Asher’s fight to live his life on his own terms was inspiring. Nonetheless, the uncompelling prose, annoying characters, and lackluster romance made the novel feel like such a chore to read.

Meg Sawyer lives in Washington DC with her boyfriend, but she devotes more time and energy to her job rather than her relationship. And out of the blue, her boyfriend dumps her, leaving Meg single yet again. Meg’s supposed to be traveling back home to Michigan for her sister’s wedding soon, but she decides to go home a little earlier than expected. She wants some family time, but she wants to see her friend Noah McCormick, who she’s always had a crush on deep down.

Noah McCormick left for the military straight out of high school, leaving behind his family and his friend Meg. There could’ve been something romantic between them, but instead they just remained great friends. It’s been 17-years since Meg and Noah became friends. Noah’s no longer in the military, but instead is the town’s Sherrif. He doesn’t have any interest in settling down, as he has plenty of responsibilities with his own family.

But when Meg arrives home for her sister’s wedding, something appears to have shifted between Meg and Noah. They give into the sexual tension that’s been building between them for nearly 2 decades. Meg is going back to DC after the wedding and Noah isn’t looking for a girlfriend, so why do things seem so complicated once their one blissful week together is over?

Insatiable by Melanie Harlow is the third book in the Cloverleigh Farms series. I’ve been loving this small town romance series, each book dedicated to a different Sawyer sister. I’m a sucker for the friends to lovers trope and this one really worked for me! Insatiable is the perfect title for this book because it’s ultra steamy and the sexual tension between Meg and Noah could be cut with a knife. I also couldn’t help but swoon at their HEA! 4/5 stars.

LOVE IT! 💜

I adore friends to lovers trope and here it was done so well.

Noah and Meg stole my heart from the first page 😍 they were such fine and lovable characters 💜 so far this is my favourite book and pairing 😊

And yes, they played bad cop with handcuffs at one point 🤭 very spicy 🔥🔥🔥🔥

The third act break-up was heavy 😥, but the whole family drama and struggles still kept me engage.

Also it had a really good 'come get your girl' afterwards 😊 so I didn't mind all that much.

The whole story about Ash too really kept my interest and I loved the epilogue 💜

Also Nothing is better in my humble opinion than a good sibling dynamic, and I really enjoy the one the the Sawyers sister have 🥰

I totally recommend this book and series.

Melanie Harlow is one talented lady 😊

Insatiable is sweet, hot and heartwarming. I absolutely loved Noah and Meg's story. I swooned and sighed dreamily quite a lot while reading. They are just so perfect together. I readily admit that certain things Noah did annoyed me but other than that I thought this story was utter perfection. It had me emotionally invested, fully engaged and I can't recommend it enough.

This series continues to impress me.
Even though I thought Noah could benefit from some therapy, he and Meg were …Wowza! Some serious heat with these two! And I love these Sawyer sisters!
