Bellamy Creek #4

Tie Me Down

Rate this book
Just friends.
That’s all Beckett Weaver and I have ever been.

Sure, he’s a hot cowboy who left Wall Street behind to take over his family’s ranch. Yes, I’ve had a secret crush on him since we were seventeen. And who wouldn’t appreciate those strong hands, that massive chest, and the way he fills out a pair of Levis?

He makes a girl sweat just looking at him . . . and I look. A lot.

But I’m a single mom trying to move on with my life, and he’s running that ranch single-handedly while taking care of his elderly father. We don’t even live in the same state. I only returned to my hometown of Bellamy Creek to sell my late mother’s house, and he just invited me and my son to stay with him because he’s got a big heart.

That’s not the only big thing he’s got--which I discover the night I finally sneak across the hall to his bedroom and shed my inhibitions right alongside my pajamas. And once we give into each other, we can’t stop.

The hayloft. The bed of his truck. The dock by the pond.

Nothing has ever felt so right, but his past has taught him not to believe in happily ever after, and every perfect night I spend in his arms brings us closer to goodbye.

Like any cowboy, he’s good with a rope and knows exactly how to tie me up.

But what if I want him to tie me down?

3.5 || Authors who give you a bonus epilogue at the end of a series really understood the assignment!! Also, proven theory: single parent romances are definitely Melanie Harlow's thing!

− single parent trope? ✔
− friends to lovers? ✔
− second chance at love? ✔
− mutual pining FOR YEARS? ✔
− a cute kid? ✔
− funny side characters? ✔
− the best extended epilogue? ✔

Maddie Blake is looking for a new beginning. Newly divorced and with a kid to worry about, she decided it's time to take care of unfinished business and that's how she ends up in her old town. But her mother's house is uninhabitable, and that's when her always friend Beckett comes in, ready to let her be roommates for the next two weeks. Beckett Weaver is a cowboy through and through, to the point he even quit his successful job on Wall Street to help out on the family farm and be around his friends. This cowboy doesn't have many regrets but Maddie Blake, they were always close and it was no secret to anyone Beckett's crush on Maddie. They kept in touch over the years but he never acted in it, so perhaps the final opportunity presented itself now.

I need to be honest and say that this wasn't my favorite book in the series, but the bar was quite high after the last book (Call Me Crazy). This was probably the cutest romance on the Bellamy Creek series and that has a lot to do with Maddie and Beckett feeling the same as when they were teenagers, but now having a chance to act on their feelings; the friendship between them was always there, but this shyness about how to be so close to each other and discover new aspects of each other's lives gave this story a plus.

And there were also the supporting characters, and how Beckett and Maddie interacted with them. There is Maddie's son, Elliot, and her easy relationship with not only Beckett, but also Beckett's father, which was a breath of fresh air for Maddie after the way her ex-husband treated him. Mr. Weaver, even if he was the creator of some bittersweet moments at times because of his mental condition, was another source of funny moments, flirting with Maddie and exasperating Beckett. and the boys! I think it was funny and typical the way they teased Beckett since Maddie came back to town, but there are also those deep talks between them about how they almost lost their loved ones if they hadn't got their heads out of their butts, advising Beckett to fight for Maddie and Elliot, convincing him that he deserves love in his life despite all his insecurities.

Tie Me Down was a great ending to this series, with Melanie Harlow bringing us a book with all the feelings; longing, angst, tension, chemistry, FRUSTRATION, etc. This group of friends and found family trope was amazing and can't wait for whatever this author is writing about next.

It's a bittersweet goodbye - I'm sad to see this group of guy friends go, because every book in this series has been great. This is my least favorite of the four, but the bar is set VERY high, so I can't be too upset about that. I love how each book had its own vibe, yet there are so many commonalities that tie everything together. This childhood friends to lovers romance features a sexy and stubborn hero who just can't seem to get his head out of his... you know. It's STEAMY and angsty with some heartfelt moments, but I can't help feeling that the lust and longing overshadowed the emotional connection. I still loved a significant amount of it, but this one is missing the swoons for me.

The story follows Beckett, the final single guy in his group of friends. While he's happy that his buddies have found lasting love, he doesn't believe that the odds are in his favor to find that for himself. Beckett's father is battling dementia and his health is failing, so it's not like he's got time to date anyways. But when Beckett's high school crush and longtime friend, Maddie, comes to stay at the family home, it's like no time has passed at all. Turns out, Beckett still has the same feelings for Maddie that his teenage self did, but now he's got the confidence to do something about it. As the two tentatively cross the line from friends to lovers, Maddie's temporary status in town is a constant reminder that nothing lasts forever.

I loved how everything came full circle in this, and the story centers on permanent connections, found families, and letting love in. I just wish it was executed in a less frustrating way, lol. There's a LOT of time spent on why these two don't have a future, and not enough focus on why they SHOULD. The story relies heavily on Beckett and Maddie's history (from 15 years ago) and their sexual chemistry, but there aren't a lot of romantic moments. I really needed more of that present day emotional connection, and that's where this is lacking for me. I still loved the sizzling scenes, the tension, and the connection between Maddie/Beckett's dad and Beckett/Maddie's son - plus the bond between the four heroes of this series. There's a lot to love about this steamy romance, but it didn't resonate with me in the same way that the previous three books did. I'm sad to say goodbye to Bellamy Creek, but looking forward to whatever's next. I received an early copy (then purchased it for my collection), and am voluntarily leaving a review of this friends to lovers romance.

-"Sometimes it takes people a while to see what's right in front of them."

Maddie Blake is a single mom that is newly divorced and desperately in need of a fresh start. She decides it's time to tie up some loose ends, and heads to her hometown for a two week vacation. While there she will fix up her late mothers house to finally sell, and show her son where she grew up. When her plans to stay in her childhood home fall through she accepts a generous offer to stay with her longtime friend Beckett Weaver. They grew up across the street from each other and had always been close. She's had a crush on him since they were teenagers, and seeing him again reminds her of how easy things always were between them. The only difference is the boy she once knew is all man, and absolutely gorgeous! He will be hard to resist, but she has to remind herself she's only in town temporarily.

Beckett Weaver gave up a big Wall Street job to return home to run the family farm in his small lakeside town, Bellamy Creek. Being a rancher hadn't always been his dream career, but the ranch had been in his family for over one hundred years. Running Weaver Ranch and taking care of his elderly dad took up all his time. His work was endless and he struggled to balance everything. He didn't have time for much of a personal life, but the one girl he's always wanted blows back into town and he suddenly finds himself longing for more. Beckett has history with Maddie Blake. He's known her since first grade, and never could forget that kiss they shared their senior year of high school. Now she will be sleeping under his roof and he has to remember he's in the friend zone. Life led them in different directions years ago, but were they always meant to be? When they cross that line and finally give in to desire will they be able to walk away?

-How was it possible that fifteen years had gone by, and I still struggled to breathe normally when she was in the room?

Tie Me Down (Bellamy Creek, #4) by Melanie Harlow is a heartwarming standalone friends to lovers romance about finally getting a chance with the one that got away. This is the final book in this amazing series about four best friends who grew up together in a small town. Beckett has always been the mysterious one I wanted more of. I love this entire series, and especially enjoyed getting to know this quiet, kind, sexy cowboy!

Tie Me Down is the last book in this series. Again, Miss Harlow intended this series to be relaxing, easy and clean romance. It has a small town vibe on it.

The story is again a secind chance romance. The chemistry is fun and cute between Maddie and Beckett. No OW/ OM drama.

I like it because Miss Harlow gave us a character with dementia, which is Beckket's father. Miss Beckett treated dementia issue with tender care.
The whole story is not bad either. The push and pull is not entirely annoying. And the epilogue gives us the glimpse of the next generation.

Overall a good book to end my miserable weekend.

This was just okay. The writing wasn't bad, but the story did seem to drag at times. I did get annoyed because it seemed like it took them a while to finally get together. There wasn't anything holding them back except themselves. The main thing that turned me off from this story was the way Elliott was written. If you want to write an adult that way, fine. Let me know ahead of time, and I can decide whether I want to read or not. It made me put the book down and debate whether to finish. Boys wearing pink is one thing. A unicorn barrette, pink cowboy boots and a princess shirt are too far in my opinion. I wasn't a huge fan of this one, but I've liked this author's work in the past. I will be on the look out for her next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

Don't ask why it took for ages to finish off this series. I read the first three books back-to-back and decided to hold off on this book. Book 3 was not my favorite, so it probably had something to do with it but here we are.

This is a second chance romance and friends to lovers.

Beckett and Maddie have been friends since they were young, and both spent their high school years wanting the other but never admitting to it or making any moves. They were oblivious to the feelings they both felt, and this caused them to never have a chance to try and see where things were going. Maddie ends up dating jerks and Beckett spends his high school years not dating and actually going to college a virgin as he hoped she would be the one.

I enjoyed Beckett's character. He was a kind and loving guy. He thought everything in his life with his actual brain and never let his emotions or desires play a part in his decisions but that also let him live a lonely life.

Beckett had only one relationship during those 15 years, and he reveals it was on and off and he never loved her as it wasn’t something he felt or cared for.

Maddie and Beckett stay in contact in college and after that but once she meets her husband she stops contact. We find out her husband had cheated on her in the past and kept doing it but she was pregnant and could not break up that since she grew up without a father and did not want that life for her child, so she spends years with her ex, but they never really are romantic together for a few years before she eventually gets tired of his cheating and leaves.

She reconnects with Beckett as she needs to get into town and take care of her mother’s old home and Beckett being the great guy he is agrees to help her and house her and her son for two weeks.

Beckett lives with his father who is struggling with short term memory and needs care at all times. I loved the way everyone was patient with this sweet man. Maddie’s son and he created their own little bond.
It's a slow burn as they have been waiting for each other for over 15 years.

When they finally ''get together'' they know it's explosive and a once in a lifetime feeling but Beckett having his own issues with abandonment, does not allow himself to imagine a future or bring up that conversation. His mother leaving their family one day when he was a baby caused him to never trust that forever exists.
Part of me wishes we had gotten some sort of resolution with his mother? To know where she was, something to tie it all up but I understand why it was left out. She did not deserve to be a part of the world and life her children and husband had built.

Beckett lies about his intentions and future plans, and this causes her to push away from him and get ready to go back to her life in Ohio.

Thankfully this does not happen as just a day or so later, he gets his head out of his ass and reveals his true feelings and lets her know that he wants her in his life and loves her.

Friends to lovers is never my favorite especially since there is a HUGE gap in them getting together and they both never truly make anything happen when they have all the chances and live their life basically away from each other.

I wonder if he would have gone after her when she revealed she was divorcing? Or did it happen because they were forced into proximity?

Beckett and Maddie get their HEA, they get married a year later and are expecting a baby.

We get to see the rest of the group of friends throughout this book with their wives and a few having children.

NO TIE ME UP, TIE ME DOWN -- MORE LIKE KNOCK ME SIDEWAYS

This is a personal feeling
and it hurts me to say it, but is this where we are now in the saturation of romance novels? Are we so full of the same recycled story ideas and characters that there's no fresh direction in romance, except to thicken the plot with too much real life? No disrespect to the author. I understand the reality of life, and I'm not picking on any particular issue among the many in this story. The couple was weighed down with lots of personal issues that detracted from the romance for me. I'm just saying that the story seemed to be about everything but them. I'm not looking for so many side story complications in a romance book that I want to woo, entertain and take me out of my normal life, not put me back in it.

There were just too many issues for this couple, and I say that with sadness after loving Drive Me Wild and Call Me Crazy more than anything she's written since Frenched. The humorous and delightful tone was set in this series by those books, so this book is a letdown. I've been a fan of this author from the beginning and will always support her and her talent, but the problems of ageing parents, the life responsibilities that wear us down, and a child confused by gender identity is not what I'm looking for in escapist romance. Collectively, all the issues overshadowed this story and distracted from the couple and their romance, which took a backseat and left me disappointed. I really feel like the story bit off more than it could chew and I'm sure that all the issues had very special meaning to the author, but I would have felt the same way regardless of what the issues were, not specifically these issues. Sorry, but I really didn't enjoy it, so the book wasn't for me as written. I wanted more of the romance, and I truly hope that I'm alone in this reaction.

Melanie Harlow's stories are the epitome of feel good stories with sass and steam and all the delicious feels in-between. I was so excited for the final installment in the Bellamy Creek series and could not wait for Beckett and Maddie's book. This amazing couple was beyond sexy but more than anything their love story was heartwarming and butterfly-inducing!

What I loved more than anything was how Harlow showcased the love and respect and a deep caring between so many of the characters besides the obvious love and adoration shared between Beckett and Maddie themselves. I loved watching Beckett with his father, Elliot and his deep friendship and brotherhood with the rest of the guys. He was just amazing , thoughtful, warm and endearing. Likewise, Maddie was fantastic. She was strong, assertive, protective of Elliot and to Beckett's father to name a few things. I also just adored her connection to Beckett and how Harlow showed the progression of their relationship from friends to lovers.

Overall, this was a solid conclusion to this series and one that I just adored! 5 stars! ~Ratula

Man, I hated to see the fantastic Bellamy Creek series end, but wow, did it go out with a bang with Tie Me Down!

From the start of the series, I knew quiet, broody Beckett’s story would end up being my favorite. There’s just something about a man who’ll give up his life to return home to take care of an ailing parent, and do so with relatively little complaint. Sure, he’s a little jealous that his best friends have found their happily ever after, but he’s content with taking care of his dad and running the ranch. At least until he lays eyes on Maddie Weaver for the first time in fifteen years.

Maddie’s home in Bellamy Creek to fix up and sell the house she grew up in. Little did she know the house was in such bad shape she and her adorable son, Elliott, would end up staying with Beckett and his dad. And by doing so, end up having all her dreams come true.

I loved this friends-to-lovers romance so much. Loved seeing Beckett and Maddie together, in love, and happy. And of course highly entertained by Elliott and his fun precocious six-year-old innocence.

Tie Me Down is all about family, friendship, loyalty, love, and acceptance. And I loved every minute spent reading it. ~ Missy, 5 stars

“You were then, are now, and always will be the only girl I’ve ever loved. I don’t know what I did to deserve coming home to you, but nothing else in the world has ever felt so good, so I’m gonna keep on doing it.”

it was cute but again the drama at the end was too much for me. idk if i'm noticing it more now that i've binged 10 melanie harlow books in a row but its def getting to me.

i really loved how he loved her so much he wouldn't have sex as a teenager until they drifted. it was so cute ugh. i found them not being together all this time STUPIDDDDDD. i cannot believe they did that to themselves.

omg i finished this series hehehehehehe time to go back to cloverleigh and read 2nd gen hehehe <3

Sometimes we need books where we can easily fall in love with the characters without real obstacle, although for me it is still not enough at this moment. I wanted more from Beckett - I was more than excited to grab him, that is how he intrigued me from the previous parts of the series.
Altough, it turned out to be just a fine read.
Did I enjoy? Absolutely.
Devoured it in less than 1 day? Yepp! Will I remember weeks from now on what I read? Debatable. Probably, vaguably.
Still I wanted heartbreak, tough feels - this is a friends to lovers story after all & he has been in love since he was a teenager! Fifteen years went by so yea, I wanted all the butterflies. For me it could have been better if they get closer to each other back then when they met in New York - a few years back in their twenties, but this story captured only 2 weeks, but shown us much less time.
I truly adored Beckett and Maddie, also the side characters. Elliott! Cutest kid EVER.
But missing something. Light and cute all the way.
I definitely have fond memories of this series and the group.

you know how I know I love a book? if when the couple fights I feel like someone is strangling my heart.
lately, i found out I love mutual pining, and this book has it!

“I sleep with my bedroom door open. But I want you to think hard before you take advantage of that. Because I’m not eighteen anymore, and I’m no longer in the mood to be a gentleman.”

Tie Me Down is book four in the Bellamy Creek series, it’s also the final book for this series. This book follows Beckett, Maddie and Elliott(Maddie’s son). This is a small town, friends to lovers, second chance romance novel.

“When you’re ready, I want you to live here with me. I want this to be your home. And Elliott’s.”

I absolutely adored the support all the other characters put out for Elliott, Maddie’s son. IYKYK 💗💗💗💗 This book was so full of acceptance, devotion, understanding, caring, and love, It was beautiful!

“Even though we can’t have the kind of future my friends have, I’ll always be your safe place. That’s a promise I can keep.”

This final book was such an incredible way to tie up this series. It doesn’t just follow the main couple, but all four couples had some spot light in this amazing story. I can’t believe this is end, I’m going to miss the Bellamy Creek family.

“So are you gonna marry her now?”
“No, Dad. We’re not getting married. We’re just friends.”
“This is one of those things you’re not so smart about.”

I loved Beckett’s dad so much, he was such a well written character and is so wise. He may not be 100% but he is the best!

“You make me want to scream.”
“Then scream,” he said calmly. “I’ll enjoy it.

These books had the perfect amount of spice in them. Maddie and Beckett were 🔥🔥🔥🔥

“Show me,” I pleaded. “Let me feel. You can punish me for it—you can tie me down, scold me, bruise me. But let me feel the way you want me. Let me feel like I’m yours.”

I loved reading this series and I do recommend it. It was so fun to read. It had so many humorous moment, but it also had such emotional moments. It was the perfect balance.

“I’ve waited years to love you the way I’m supposed to, Maddie. I can be patient.” He brushed my hair off my face. “I want forever with you.”
“It’s yours, Beckett.” My heart beat hard against his. “I think it’s always been yours.”

Happy Reading 💖

Disappointed...2.5, maybe 3 stars

I usually really enjoy this author's books and was really looking forward to the last book in this series, but I was totally disappointed. The story was ok, but not as exciting as I'd had hoped. But what really bothered me was the political/woke aspect of the 6 yr old boy. These books are my getaway from the real world and this book dragged reality into it. I don't know if the author was trying to appease the woke generation in hope to boost her sales & popularity or if she just wanted to express her political views, but I found it unnecessary & ruined the story for me. I pretty much skimmed the book to get to the epilogue. Hopefully Ms. Harlow doesn't continue this trend or she will lose a fan & reader.

Super disappointed. Mostly because it involved popular politics (gender identity) and if you are going to include something that’s a political hot topic I want to know ahead of time so I can opt out of reading. I’m not here for political commentary, I’m here to escape.

Also just didn’t do it for me. The characters were kind of boring. The dialogue was kind of boring. I guess the book just bored me over all.

- They were childhood friends who were into each other but never dated. They kissed once when at their senior year but she had a boyfriend whom she lost her v card with but no details about. He only lost his virginity when he went to college and there were already living in different cities.
- he is not a manwhore and had one serious girlfriend for two years whom he never loved. She was married for about six years but the guy was a cheater, she was pregnant when he cheated the first time but she forgave him. I didn’t like it very much
- she hasn’t been with anyone since her divorce about a year ago and has been a long time for him too.
- she is a single mother

I really liked them but the author choose a shallow path, the book could have been more emotional. I would like more scenes showing the hero bonding with her son Elliot.
I love how to author choose to portrait Elliot, he is six years old boy who liked pink, dresses and nail polishes and the heroine is a great mother who loved and supports her kid.

I’m giving it four starts because the heroine and the hero way of treating Elliot is amazing. Her love was beautiful. Also, the hero’s father has Alzheimer’s and he choose to be with his father and he takes care of him every day, making him one priority in his life and that’s beautiful, he is a great son.

The hero is a great man, he is an awesome son, an supportive friend, hard working, not a manwhore and loves his family. A true hero.

The heroine is an amazing mother, knows the importance of therapy and is creating a path that shows she is becoming a strong and confident woman, having the strength to divorce her husband shows it. She is a nurse and can support her son. She also loves Elliot and embrabeces his personality and who is growing up to be. She is very patient with the hero’s father too.

I felt like we need a little bit more, but other than that my favorite couple. I was sad that every other book in this series had their own extra scene but this one is narrated by the heroine from the second book and was more about her family. She is the hero’s second wife because he married her highschool sweetheart who died nine years ago giving birth to their child while she never ever truly loved anyone else because she was pinning for him her whole life as he is one of her older’s brother best friend. Definitely not something I enjoyed reading. So, I wanted them to have their own bonus scene.

I liked it but it could have been better

Melanie Harlow had my heart in a vice, and not just because of the second chance, friends to lovers romance between Maddie and Beckett but because of the friendship and love between the four friends of this series. She wrote a novel that reminded me of everything that is important about life:

1. Love is more than just feelings. Love is about choosing to stay. It is about supporting each other and showing up for each other.
2. This small-town ambiance made me want to move their. This crew and Bellamy Creek was a whole mood. The group and friend moments had me feeling all sorts of nostalgia for long summer nights with friends. It reminded me of my own childhood and my best nights with my own friends and family.
3. This book really hit home what matters most in this world, and its the people who stand beside you. It is the memories you make with them. It is the growing old together.

Of course with most Melanie Harlow books, she delivered a fantastic romance. I really loved these two, and their chemistry. They fit easily together, and even though, at times, I wanted to strangle Beckett, he had a good heart. With this couple, Melanie Harlow really hit home the struggles of being vulnerable with your feelings, the bravery it takes to lay it all on the line, and also knowing your worth. She brought not only Beckett and Maddie full circle as a couple, but the whole friend group as well. How she opened the novel and ended really exemplified the themes she was constructing throughout the novel.

I am really sad to see this series come to an end. I have loved all of these standalone books in the Bellamy Creek series, but I am excited to see where else she is going to take us based on that little hint at the end of the book. If love small town romance with charm and steam, then you need to visit the Bellamy Creek world.

As much as I wanted to love this book, it just didn’t do it for me. And I hate that because I was excited for Beckett’s story. Beckett constantly thinking about how much he wants Maddie but not willing to do anything about it was quite frustrating.

With Maddie being divorced and Beckett still single, them not being together just didn’t make sense. Especially since they both wanted to be with each other since high school.

I’m glad these two finally decided to be together because they made such a cute couple. I loved how Maddie was with Beckett’s dad.

One thing that really bothered me the most was Maddie’s son, Elliott. It felt like the story was trying to make him into a girl and I just didn’t like it at all. I love reading about kids in romance books but having this boy wear dresses and stuff just didn’t sit well with me. Boys wearing pink is fine but not dresses and hair barrettes and nail polish.

I’m glad the series is complete now.

The final installment in Bellamy Creek is finally here!

This one has a second chance romance, mutual pining, a single mom, a cowboy, and a town full of friendship and acceptance.

Beckett has been holding down the family ranch and taking care of his ailing father. When Maddie, his childhood best friend and crush comes to stay while they renovate her childhood home, all those feelings come back to the surface. But did they every really go away to begin with?

This book had so much longing and mutual pining. I adored Beckett and how he was so selfless with his father. I will say that a lot of those scenes can be hard to watch, especially if you have a loved one who suffers from Alzheimer's or another memory eating disease. So be mindful of that. But watching how patient and kind Beckett was was a huge turn on for me.

Maddie has always picked the wrong men for her and after a stinging divorce she is a single mom who doesn't know what to do next. She has always had a secret thing for her best friend, but he has never really pursued her, so what was she to think. Besides a kiss they shared 15 years ago...

But staying across the hall from him and watching him with her son is doing hell on her self control.

I had a really great time falling back into Bellamy creek and I am sad to see that come to an end. But if you are a lover of Melanie Harlow, you will find more than a little to like here.

My only real gripe comes from one thing, and that is how Beckett shies away from commitment. I just don't see that laid into his character before it suddenly blows up. He has wanted Maddie forever, dreams about her, sabotages other relationships that are not her, and makes himself available whenever she needs him. And then when she is ready... he says it couldn't last? I feel like with his father declining, he would be more than ready to take life by the horns and make the most of every situation. So it just didn't ring true that he would drawn out this conflict so long and so painfully.

This was still sexy, heartwarming, and delightful. A great end to the series. And I can confirm that the rope DOES get used at one point. ;)

4.5/5 stars.

Beckett Weaver & Maddie Blake were childhood best friends who parted ways when college approached, but stayed close friends for over a decade after. Beckett had a secret crush on Maddie in high school and Maddie kept choosing the wrong guy time and time again—a pattern that didn’t seem to change much over the years.

Now Beckett & Maddie are 33-years old. Beckett left his Wall Street job in Manhattan to take over the operations of his family’s ranch and care of his elderly father who has dementia. Maddie is recently divorced and now a single mom. She wants to sell her deceased mother’s home & returns to Bellamy Creek to fix it up before its sale.

Beckett offers up his home to Maddie and her son during her 2-week visit. But when Beckett & Maddie reunite, chemistry ignites between them and they can’t help but act on feelings they’ve been harboring for almost 2-decades...

Tie Me Down by Melanie Harlow is the 4th and final book in the Bellamy Creek series. Oh, I loved this book so much! Melanie’s final books in each of her series have always been my favorites, so I’m not surprised whatsoever by my love for this book. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me so incredibly frustrated, but I loved every second of it. Beckett is such a damaged hero and I truly loved seeing his transformation. This had me crying on several occasions so a tissue box is definitely necessary. I’m sad to say goodbye to the Bellamy Creek crew! 5/5 stars.

4.5 Sometimes It's Right In Front Of You Stars

Reading Melanie Harlow's Bellamy Creek series was like gaining new friends and feeling like you were part of their inner circle. You got their jokes, you understood the problems they had, and most importantly, you knew, come what may...Those guys would always have each other's backs...even if they had to tell one of them the hard truth.

Each entry was more than just a love story, it was an insight into how these guys can be there, with backstories that present deep scars, and yet, somehow find a way to support no matter what. It was a joy to see them overcoming whatever obstacles they thought they had to find the love they deserved.

In this last entry, as I wipe a tear, Beckett Weaver had one of the most frustrating journeys out of all of them.
Basically, he had loved a girl all his life but due to the way his mind worked, he didn't believe in the long term. He learned his way from his dad, to be strong, no emotional sharing, protect, and provide.

After leaving his small town to go to Harvard and make his mark on Wall Street, he was back home on the family ranch due to his father's declining state. The ranch was a full-time job, taking care of his dad was a full-time job, and Beckett had made peace with it.

When his long-lost love, Maddie returns back to settle her mother's house after her passing, Beckett offers for her to stay at the ranch. The house is in disrepair and not safe for her and her son. Maddie is divorced now and only has two weeks to settle up all of the house business. She really appreciates the offer.

Maddie has always cared for Beckett. There was a missed opportunity and it has stayed with her even through the years. When these two start spending time together, it starts in motion feelings they cannot ignore. Maddie in the past has no been sure of her choices when it comes to men. Hearing her mother's negative talk in her head has repeatedly caused Maddie to doubt herself about everything. Being near Beckett will test her.

I happened to like how Maddie was not weak when she needed to stand tall, she showed her strength especially in how she raised her son.

This book has so much in it. There is the understanding of allowing people to be who they are from the very start...as a child. It highlights how children when they become adults sometimes reverse the dynamic with their parents, as to who is taking care of who. Most of all, it spotlights how deep pain from childhood can override so much and how hard it is to see what path to go.

With all of that going on, we also get tastes of past characters, their relationships, and futures. It truly was a well-done finale.

With the last book in her Bellamy Creek series, Melanie Harlow delivers a charming, sexy, and heartfelt finale.

Maddie Blake and Beckett Weaver have been friends since childhood. They’ve also had crushes on each other since high school but for personal reasons were afraid to express their feelings.

Life went on and so did they. Maddie got married and had a little boy. Beckett got his MBA at Yale and got his dream job on Wall Street. He later realized he was happier managing his family's ranch and went back to take care of his father.

Now Maddie is a single mom who went through a divorce and has come back for a couple of weeks to sell her childhood home while staying at Beckett’s with her six-year-old son. Ignoring their attraction is nearly impossible but can Beckett give her a good enough reason to move back?

I haven’t read any behind the scenes about this series, but I’m almost certain that Melanie knew the meaning of the name Bellamy when she started writing it. It means “fine friend.”

That’s EXACTLY what the men of these books are to each other and in Time Me Down they're also proof for Beckett that people do stick around forever while helping him get over his abandonment issues. All ribbing aside, I loved the strong friendships between the guys and how it extended to the women in their lives.

I loved Beckett. Even though he had obstacles to get over in the relationship department, he was a devoted son, loyal friend, caring brother and uncle and unbelievably sexy. I’m glad that with the help of his friends and family was able to his happy ending. I enjoyed how everyone rallied around them and cheered them on.

It’s always bitter-sweet saying goodbye a great group of characters. But I’m very glad I got to read about their journey towards their HEA and the was chapters in this book were absolutely heartwarming.

A friends-to-lovers, small town story between two friends who reunite many years after graduation! Our hero who left the hedge fund world to become a cowboy/farmer, and our heroine who was recently divorced with one little boy, who wished to turn a blank page and restart afresh.
Tie me Down gives us the story of Beckett, who is the fourth friend in the foursome of Griffin, Cole, Enzo, and Beckett. This story gives you friendship, acceptance, rediscovery of one's self, and taking a leap of faith!

POV: Dual
Cheating: No
Heat: Medium
Angst: Low
Strong points: true friendships, a gorgeous boy who gains acceptance
Weak points: Beckett was very emotionally "restrained" all throughout, some plot and character underdevelopment, HEA seemed a bit rushed.
HEA: Yes ❤️

Beckett and Maddie stole my heart form the first page. By the end of chapter 1, I was swooning over this sexy cowboy and but the end of chapter 2, I was fanning myself because he was Just. That. Hot!!
