When we were eleven, Oliver Ford Pemberton dared me to jump off a barn roof. He said you couldn’t break a leg from a 12-foot-jump.

He lied.

(You can also break a collarbone, which served him right as far as I was concerned.)

I wish I could say it was the last dare I ever took from him, the last bet I ever made with him, the last time I ever trusted Oliver Ford Pemberton.

But it wasn’t.

Because he had the nerve to grow up gorgeous, charming, and sexy. And as we got older, the dares only got dirtier—and the betting stakes higher—until finally, he left me in pieces. I swore I’d never talk to him again.

But twenty years after I took that flying leap, he’s back in my life, daring me to risk everything for him: my job, my self-worth, and my heart.

How many chances does love deserve?

2++ Stars

It actually pains me a little to write this review but I did not enjoy Undeniable, the latest Melanie Harlow offering.

I'm giving this two plus stars because even a not so fabulous Melanie Harlow book falls within my "okay" range and that probably won't change any time soon.

My low rating and the general "mehness" I felt while reading this book stems mostly from the two main characters, Chloe and Oliver. To lay it out in plain English, I felt Oliver needed to stop being a selfish jerk waaaaay before he kinda, sorta did. He wasn’t horrible but he never put Chloe ahead of his own interests and never really did anything to apologize for being a jackass and consistently hurting her. Oh, and Chloe needed to grow a significantly stronger backbone, either option would've worked for me.

Basically, it comes down to the fact I don't want to read about a heroine that's consistently treated like crap, or even as just a means to an end, by her "man" and never stands up for herself. I'm just so freaking mentally worn out by the thought. I know all characters are different and not all are going to act the same, yada yada yada. I get it. I just don’t read books featuring those kinds of women if I can at all help it. And after all, being a douchebag isn't a god given right.

I'm still a huge fan of Melanie Harlow but unfortunately this one didn't do it for me.

It's obvious that I love Melanie Harlow's words. However, her ability to captivate me in each story is truly remarkable. Oliver and Chloe are full of banter, baggage, and an undeniability to want to root for them. Their history is complicated and I always "got it" with them. I could see why he fought so hard, what made him tick, and why Chloe was unable to resist him.

This story is a second chance love that shows how sometimes the heart wants what it wants regardless of circumstances.

Melanie Harlow weaves a tale of hope in a way that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

*****FOUR STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

We’d had our ups and downs, but our chemistry was undeniable. We knew exactly how to light one another on fire in every way, good and bad. But that weekend—that weekend—had made me believe we were soul mates. I honestly thought we’d spend the rest of our lives together. I thought I’d been wrong about him. So stupid.

The second book in the “Cloverleigh Farms” series about the beautiful Sawyer sisters and the epic loves that come into their lives, put me on an emotional rollercoaster. I felt a connection to the Heroine, Chloe, but I can’t say the same for the Hero, Oliver. When the Hero doesn’t light that spark for me, it ends up dimming my enjoyment for the story. The plot was entertaining but the angst caused by the total and utter douchery of Oliver, had me seeing red throughout most of the story. This is what I would label a ”frenemies-to-lovers/5th Chance romance”. I honestly lost count as to how many times Oliver strung poor Chloe’s heart out to dry. I only wished that in the end, she made him suffer so much more than she actually did.

Chloe and Oliver were born into their friendship. Their mothers were the best of friends, which meant the two spent plenty of time together throughout their youth and into adulthood. The story goes back and forth from past to present, but it’s really easy to follow and pertinent to the progression of the plot.

Chloe is trying to expand her family’s business but doesn’t have the money to do it on her own, so her parents convince her to go in as partners with her arch-nemesis, Oliver Pemberton. It’s the last thing she wants to do but when she realizes he’s her only shot, she decides to give the venture a chance. While spending the weekend together looking at a potential location for their expansion, they can’t seem to fight that chemistry that always ran hot between them, but Chloe tries to keep her heart protected. Every time in the past that they’ve come together, Oliver always ended up acting like an immature boy instead of a grown man with integrity. Chloe’s heart was broken time and again. Now it would seem as though Oliver has finally matured from his spoiled rich boy ways, but he’s keeping a huge secret from Chloe. Will this be the final straw that tears the two lovers apart for good?

Here are my overall ratings:

Heroes: 3.5
Heroine: 4
Plot: 4
Angst: 4
Steam: 4
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 4

UNDENIABLE: is a full length second chance romance novel set in a small town by Melanie Harlow her second standalone in her Cloverleigh Farm Series. Spoken in 'Dual POV's' In this we meet Chloe & Oliver, which flits from Past to Present effortlessly.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Calling all fans of second chance romances, you won't want to miss this one..Definitely a #oneclick recommendation.

It's got all the angst, all those steamy scenes, all those feels that us readers all like to chase, but last not but least it has all those little swoony moments. Also thrown in for good measure there are those times where you wish could jump in the book, shake Chloe and throttle Oliver.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

These two were a hot mess, from parents who were besties, to conceiving and delivering mere days apart, Chloe & Oliver were friends from the start but always at loggerheads, from daring each other to both having battle scars to prove it from their hair brained adventures, Oliver in many circumstances was Chloe's firsts. From friends to frenemies, to rivals outsmarting each other.

We ran hot and cold, but we had history. We'd shared some unforgettable experiences, both painful and pleasurable. But beneath all the surface level ups and downs was a bond that couldn't be broken.

Oliver was also the very first boy who broke her heart many years ago and from seeing each other all the time dwindled down to not seeing each other for many years.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Thirty two year old Chloe reigns from a household of 4 driven female siblings, she was born and bred on Cloverleigh Farm and is striving to prove herself to her family that she's ready to operate a distillery but she doesn't have the capital to get one off the ground. Enter Oliver Ford. He's got the funds, he's also got a distillery that's up and running. He'll teach her what he knows on the business side of things and wants to operate as partners on Cloverleigh Farm.

I'm a hard worker, and he's a globe-trotting, yacht-cavorting, devil-may-care, rich, egotistical play boy.

This was a fast read and I didn't feel as though I was missing anything by not having read the first book. However ...

While the writing is nigh on flawless, and the characters and dialogue clever, I did have some issues with this story. The biggest problem was Oliver. The man is in his early 30s and he's still so self-centred it was almost painful. He knows what he's done to Chloe over the years has gone from annoying to heart-breaking, and yet he still seems to think he can charm his way into her good graces. I honestly wanted to throttle him for his cavalier attitude towards her feelings throughout most of this book. He was petulant and spoiled and I wish his grandmother had beaned him on the head with her cane. His reason for what happened after the last time they were together was weak and he did not do enough to earn her forgiveness.

And Chloe was hard to sympathise with because she would not stand up for herself. You know that saying, "Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you."? What happens at fool me for the fifth time; the tenth? I liked that she had April to talk to, and that she shared every dark and sordid bit of her history with Oliver with April. But if a guy repeatedly hurt one of my sisters, you can be sure that I'd be running interference with the parents. (Not necessarily to tell them how disrespectful Oliver was, but at least to get them to back off pressuring Chloe.)

Luckily Oliver does manage to pull his head out of his arse, but sadly Chloe never learns to stick up for herself. This book had the potential to be so much better, if only she were a better role model for women.

When the hero is so awful you actively root for him to die at the end

This was a well paced, well crafted story but the hero was just so much of a lying assh*le that I felt he was irredeemable. To con and connive the heroine for her entire life, swear he’s grown up and genuine while continuing to lie to her was just too much. He was borderline sociopathic, definitely narcissistic and didn’t deserve a happy ending. Melanie Harlow writes a good flawed hero but occasionally goes way too far and creates a complete jerk. This hero was that jerk.

Anyway, this book was a nope for me obviously.

It's hard not to like and enjoy a friends to lovers, or an enemies to lovers story. And to top it off, a second chance at love. Especially from one sweet author!!

Chloe and Oliver's journey is written so well. I throughly enjoyed it ❤️
I didn't connect right away with Oliver, but he definitely grew on me and I loved him by the end!!

Another one you don't want to pass by, a nice addition to this awesome series!!

“Are you trying to make me fall for you, Oliver Pemberton?"
He grinned. "We don't fall. We jump.”

i really wanted to be nice and give this 2 stars but dear god i'm not in a good mood and this ruined it tenfold. i just picked any quote bc i hated every single word in this book.

wtf? i thought this was a second chance in which at least they’d have a small romance in the “then” scenes but they were fucking apart for that shit too?

like you cannot tell me that they didn’t talk for 3 fucking years in the “then” scenes bc the heroine didn’t fucking realize that he was jealous of her dating another dude… what is this book. where is the romance????

this book gave me a fucking headache, i actually had to fucking drink painkillers for this.

the other at least could’ve put some fucking effort into researching russian names that were given a fucking 100 years ago bc JACOB FELDMANN? thats not russian ESPEciALLY 100 years ago. like bro? a quick google search and you couldve found any russian name.

that ending was stupid. his reasoning and “big secret” was fucking dumb and didn’t fucking make sense.

the romance was no where to be found. i actually spent more time looking at my wall than reading this.

4.5 ”All I Want Is You” Stars!
(ARC provided by Social Butterfly PR)

Chloe Sawyer is a beautiful, independent, single 32 yr. old woman who grew up in Michigan. She comes from a big, loving family, and is one of five sisters. She is dedicated to the family business Cloverleigh Farms, were they run a farm, winery, inn, and wedding venue. Chloe is currently in charge of the marketing and PR, as well as managing the tasting rooms at the winery, but her dream has always been to have her own distillery at Cloverleigh. Suddenly an opportunity comes her way and everything she’s wanted is in reach, but it requires her to put her faith in the one person she can’t trust.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Oliver Pemberton is a wealthy, charming, playboy who lives and works in Detroit. Chloe has known him since they were born, and their families have always been close since their mothers were best friend’s. She’d once believed they were soulmates, and had been prepared to give him everything until he broke her heart. In the past, every time they got close to having something real it blew up in their faces, and he somehow always managed to disappoint her in the end. If she was going to have to be around him again, she had to not let her emotions get the best of her like they always did where he was concerned. He was older and even more gorgeous than she remembered, and he had always been her one weak spot. The one guy she could never resist.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

-Oliver had a way of getting under my skin.

-We’d had our ups and downs, but our chemistry was undeniable. We knew exactly how to light one another on fire in every way, good and bad.

-I needed some air. Some space. Some distance between me and those blue eyes. That smell. Those hands. It had been years since they’d touched me, but I hadn’t forgotten how it felt. I hadn’t forgotten anything.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Chloe and Oliver were both headstrong, competitive, and challenged each other. They ran hot and cold, but they had a history and bond that was never broken no matter how many years passed. She’d always had questionable judgement with Oliver, and when they were together she seemed to throw caution to the wind, so when he wants one more chance will she risk her heart and trust him again?

Undeniable by Melanie Harlow is book two in the Cloverleigh Farms series. It’s an all new, sexy standalone enemies to lovers romance about forgiveness and second chances. I really enjoyed this story as it goes from then to now and we get to watch Chloe and Oliver’s relationship change and grow from children to adults. It’s full of unbelievable chemistry, humorous banter, friendship and love.

The minute I read the blurb to Undeniable, Melanie Harlow's second standalone in the Cloverleigh Farms Series, I was SO ready. Anyone who knows me knows that enemies to lovers is my jam but the fire between Oliver and Chloe was On.Another.Level!!! Goddamn the passion between them almost singed my fingers as I impatiently tapped each page for more. I loved the banter, their combustible chemistry and the way they loved and argued with equal fervor! This book was outstanding!!

Chloe Sawyer and Oliver Ford Pemberton have always had an acrimonious relationship. Being childhood friends/ rivals/frenemies, tensions and tempers have always run hot between them. But over the years their heated history turned into blistering hot interludes that ultimately left Chloe shattered. Now she has to decide if taking another chance on Oliver is a good bet that will work in her favor.

This story was absolutely brilliant. The banter was fantastic and their attraction was sizzling. I will admit that I was on the edge of my seat reading as the back and forth flashbacks created some delicious angst and build up. There was also a mysterious element in regards to Oliver's intentions as I wasn't fully sure about his secrets and motivations and the little clues and breadcrumbs had me going crazy!

Overall, I absolutely floved Chloe as she gave as good as she got and was always ready and willing to serve up a side of sass and then some. Oliver likewise was sexy and likeable with real flaws he had to come to terms with. I loved how Harlow portrayed their connection beautifully as their pain, joy and confusion came right off the pages. Their romance felt very real and heartfelt and I was with them, (and rooting for them), from their very first jump at eleven years old. All in all, this love story was intense and emotional and one that will stay with me for a long time. Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula

You jump, I jump.

Oh, Oliver and Chloe. Damn, I’m still reeling from your amazing journey to your happily ever after. Seriously though, there were many times I wondered if you’d make it. So many bad decisions. So many unspoken words. So many unexpressed feelings.

So much awesomeness.

I adored Chloe from the start. I loved her no nonsense take on the world. Her realness. And her vulnerability—especially when it came to matters of her heart and her feelings for Oliver. I loved her hope—her willingness to believe in love and allowing herself to forgive and move on. But there was only so much she could take—and man, did Oliver reach the line on that, and crossed it too many times.

But there was also something about Oliver, something Undeniable that made him forgivable and also showed his vulnerability. He loved Chloe, always had, but just really didn’t know how to really move past his own mistakes, his own fears and really show her.

I loved Chloe and Oliver’s connection. Loved their competitive history. Loved their banter. Loved their sexy times. Loved how they didn’t let the other get away. That they finally fought for what they wanted, what they deserved. I just loved it all. ~ Missy, 5 stars

I have recently started reading Melanie Harlow and have been loving her stories! I fell in love with her characters in Irresistible (the first book in the series, also a standalone) and haven't been able to stop reading since! She sure knows how to write sweet, small town romances AND she can write various tropes that become readers favorites! In this one, we have an enemies-to-lovers, second chance romance, with a whole lot of heart. I loved Oliver and Chloe's story and was rooting for the two to get their HEA from the first page! Their road to love wasn't an easy one, the two had some trust issues to get through, but it was so worth it in the end!

If you are a fan of Melanie Harlow's beautiful love stories then this one is a must read for you! This book IS the second in the series but CAN be read as a complete standalone. Each story follows the love story of a different sister from the Sawyer family- most of which take place at Cloverleigh Farms! I absolutely cannot WAIT to see who gets the next story because this series is easily becoming an all time favorite of mine!

Probably more of a 4.5, but I'm rounding up because I enjoyed it so much!!

This story is both a sort of second chance romance and enemies to lovers, which are two of my favorite tropes. I liked the first book in this series, but I loved this one. Chloe is firey and sarcastic, but not in an overly cynical way. I loved her relationship with Oliver. It was the type of relationship where you weren't sure if they were in love or if they were going to kill each other, which definitely kept me on my toes. Overall, I loved this one please, please, please pick it up if you're interested.

I can't wait to continue on with this series.

Chloe and Oliver have known each other all their lives and shared many firsts together, including a kiss in a closet when they were still kids. There has always been some sort of connection between them but nothing more serious than friendship.

Deep down, both of their families are probably hoping that they will end up together but based on their history it is very unlikely. You see, Oliver is a bit of a smooth talker and has no qualms about lying his way out of things to get what he wants. This was a sore point for me throughout most of this story. He just blatantly lies, all the time. Sometimes it could be put down to immaturity and silly decisions but it really annoyed the heck out of me at times.

Anyhoo, back to the story. Chloe’s father drops a bit of a bombshell on her when he announces that he has arranged for Oliver to help her realise her future goals for their family business and this means spending a huge amount of time with him. The proposition that he puts to her is very intriguing and once she can see what he is imagining Chloe is really excited to move forward with these exciting plans.

Oliver and Chloe have a lot of history together that is probably best left in the past. There is a pull there that Chloe seems to be helpless to when it comes Oliver. Every time they have what Chloe feels is a special moment together she is left burned by him. Every. Time. Chloe knows that they are no good together and promises herself not to trust him again but fails to follow through on it.

Truth be told, there is a genuine connection between them and it may possibly even be love but Oliver goes the wrong way about showing it to Chloe. In fact, he pretty much sabotages any happiness they could have had together. Even now, when they are older and wider, he still seems to keep making mistakes and this time it may be the final one for Chloe. There is only so much she can take from Oliver Pemberton.

This is the second book in the Cloverleigh Farm series and it could not have been more different to the first one. As I mentioned, I didn’t particularly like Oliver for most of this story and even at the end it left me wondering if he can really change the habits of a lifetime. I’m hoping he can :)

4.5 We Don’t Fall. We Jump Stars

I loved this book immensely. Chloe and Oliver’s second chance at romance was, adventurous, exciting, sexy, and swoontastic! It was honestly exactly the type of book I needed at the moment. The story was a fast paced read that kept me on my toes.

Oliver and Chloe were inseparable from birth. Growing up together cemented their bond. Unfortunately, things went awry. Ultimately, watching these too find their way back to one another was such an enjoyable read.

Here’s what I loved:
The chemistry between these two was explosive! I think this is one of the hottest MH books I’ve read. I enjoyed that immensely.
Chloe is a strong and principled young woman. Despite her issues with trust, she’s open to Oliver. I loved how their spark continued to burn.
The writing is fantastic! I highlighted so many gorgeous lines. It packed an emotional punch.

Overall, this is fantastic read and I highly recommend it!

4.5 Bet Me CROWNS

Melanie Harlow seems to have hit the perfect blend of sweet and steamy romance with her new Cloverleigh series. I get all the steamy scenes I need in a romance with the “sweep me off my feet” moments.

Part of the reason her romances are so swoonworthy are the heroes. Oliver, while he has his moments, is a perpetual goof off, but he finds his perfect match in Chloe. She is just as impulsive and lives in the moment. This obviously has gotten them into quite a bit of trouble together as a pair and with each other as they have aged. The flashbacks in this story are endearing. We see the pain and hurt he has caused Chloe, but we also see that she has unintentionally harmed him, too. This paired with the two of them getting to know the new adult versions of themselves made it perfect.

The plot of the story is pretty predictable, and there really wasn’t any deviation from my expectations. What I did love was the grandmother (I loved her to bits) and the epic grand gesture at the end. And when the final page was read, I felt happy and was smiling over how the whole story ended, which to me is the sign of a great book.

Melanie Harlow is always a one-click author for me, and this new series of standalones must proves why. If you need sweet, and steamy, then Undeniable is a must.

Oliver and Chloe have one of those relationships where they are always there for each other, yet they drive each other nuts. They are both to stubborn to see that they are meant for each other. Chloe doesn't want to admit it and Oliver is a bit too immature to recognize it. I loved how the story unfolded and the fact that Chloe stood up for herself. My only issue was that Oliver seemed to still be immature for his age. His little scheme showed his insecurities (Gran was awesome) and Chloe's reaction was 100% warranted. Oliver finally realized what he was missing and really showed her he was all in. Melanie Harlow is the best!

Title: Undeniable (Cloverleigh Farms #2)
Author: Melanie Harlow

Undeniable - Teaser 4 AN.jpg

I am a die hard fan of Melanie Harlow's books. The first book from the Cloverleigh Farms series, Irresistible , was such an amazing read! Sadly, I didn't enjoy this book as much.
I love Harlow's books and I was absolutely positive that this was going to be another smashing hit but alast! I didn't get to feel the feelings and emotions that I usually expect to feel when I read a Melanie Harlow book.

And because I am such a die hard fan of this author's books and also because this cover is so GORGEOUS and so flipping' DREAMY, I was adamant that I would love this book. Need have I ever had to force myself to complete a book. I did for this book and yet I didn't enjoy it.

Having said all that *eye roll* , Undeniable wasn't all that bad. I guess I have high expectations when it comes to her books.

C'est la vie. I say, to each their own. You might enjoy it more than I did.

This book doesn't deter me and I look forward to reading her next book. I still enjoyed her previous books and I am sure, I will enjoy her next.

Okay so...
I wasn't bowled over by the first book in this series and I liked this one a smidge less than that, and I can honestly say it's down to the fact that Oliver is... kind of an immature dickhead?
Okay, so there's no 'kind of' about it. He's an immature dickhead.
Some of the things he said and did to Chloe were way out of pocket and I couldn't believe that this was a fully grown, thirty something year old man. Like, if this is what the dating pool is like in your thirties, count me all the way out.
And the fact it took her approximately 0.2 nanoseconds to forgive him? Girl. Please. I can't. Hold the man accountable for his actions for a few hours at least. An hour. Half an hour!
I also don't think the fact we were given perspectives from when they children did this book any favors at all. I know it is supposed to be a childhood friends to lovers situation and the perspectives from back then were to help us see how their relationship developed, but it honestly just made me dislike Oliver even more.
Like, this man literally spent pretty much the entirety of their lives lying to her, manipulating her, ghosting her and making her feel like shit, but suddenly he comes strolling back in when he has use for her and decides he's all mature and shit now and ready for a relationship? Knowing how she feels about him? And uses that to his advantage? And then STILL lies to her? Multiple times? I wasn't here for it.
But, on the other hand, it was another very quick read which is wonderful for my yearly goal count.

2.5 stars. Not gonna lie but this book was a huge disappointment for me! I thought it would be super cute since it's childhood best friends to lovers but turned enemy ish BUT LIKE HELLO Oooooo I didn't like our hero and heroine at all. At first I thought the heroine was a spoiled brat. You need money. You need to run a business. Just work with what you got and that's our hero. You have no say in anything. But then our hero is a jerk and said some fked up shit to our heroine when they see each other again. He mentions that he 'forgot' he took her virginity to cut her deep and he BARELY apologizes. Bye.

I thought Lucas and Mia were my all time favourite Harlow couple but they have stiff competition because I love Chloe and Oliver, perhaps just as much.

The start of the book with the ill fated dare to jump off a barn roof for a tamagotchi had me hooked on the pair of them. Oliver is the naughty prankster but Chloe gives as good as she gets and initiates her own tricks on him.

Grown up and mature you would think they can be sensible adults and put the past behind them. They are just so funny and sweet together. And oh so sexy.

I want to buy some Brown Eyed Girl spirits and visit the island where the rye grows. Loved. Loved. Loved it.

Ambos protagonistas me gustaron mucho.

***3.5***

Para divertirte mientras lees una bonita y entretenida historia de amor (frenemies to lovers) hahha

He was a liar and an asshole to her. He played with her feelings too many times. I don’t even want to start on the lack of consent in the first flashbacks... This one was extremely disappointing and hurtful. Poor Chloe. She deserved better, starting with a REAL apology and true groveling (even then I doubt he would’ve been able to redeem himself)

I only finished because I wanted to know what he was keeping from her.

I little bit better than Irresistible. My problem with the two books in this series so far is that the stories are too fast and there is no depth in them. I'd appreciate more struggles or more fight for the relationships to work.
Anyway, fast read, not great, not terrible.
Not memorable.
